Born and raised in the Inland Empire, better known as the "IE," Jamaal proudly attended Summit High School, where he dominated the football field as a Sky Hawk.
He committed to BYU, Brigham Young University, to play college ball over an offer from Boise State.
During his career at BYU, Jamaal rushed for a school-record 3,901 yards on 726 carries.
After attending BYU, he entered the league as a fourth-round pick by the Green Bay Packers in the 2017 NFL Draft, where he played four seasons before joining the Detroit Lions.
In his second season with the Lions, Williams set the teams’ single-season rushing touchdown record with 17, surpassing the previous record of 16 set by Barry Sanders.
On March 17, 2023, Williams signed a three-year contract with the New Orleans Saints.
